Tower Technician 1

AS A TOWER TECHNICIAN I, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • • Climbing and working on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment performs tower maintenance under close supervision.

  • • The basic use and care of hand tools and mechanical equipment.

  • • Knowing the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized lines and equipment.

  • • The ability to climb tall structures (100 feet or more) with 50 lb. load.

  • • Analyzing situations accurately and adopt an appropriate course of action. Communicating orally and in writing.

  • • Following instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action.

  • • Recognizing safety hazards and performing duties in a safe manner.

  • • Work under close supervision.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • • Must have High school diploma or equivalent.

  • • 0 to 1 years of industry experience.

  • • Successfully completed the MNS Tower Technician Training Program.

  • • Applicant/Employee weight and tools combined may not exceed 280-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.

  • • Applicant/Employee waist circumference must not exceed 60 inches measured at the navel as specified by the manufacturer of safety equipment.

  • • Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.

  • • Possession of a valid driver license.

Tower Foreman

This position is responsible for the daily site construction work efforts assigned to you by leadership.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • • Oversee the daily operations at assigned sites.

  • • Maintain daily paperwork required for the site and the crew.

  • • Implement and follow through with job instructions provided by leadership.

  • • Ensure safety and quality control requirements at your sites and with your crew.

  • • Compile all site-specific closeout documentation for your work effort.

  • • Upload closeout documentation to customer interfaces.

  • • Coordinate with customer representative for site related activities and maintain a good working relationship with customer representative.

  • • Provide leadership, guidance and actively train / promote learning to all crew members.

  • • Maintain equipment and vehicles in an operational condition at all times.

  • • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS | Skills and Experience

  • • At least 5 years of industry experience.

  • • Demonstrated expertise in construction skills, rigging, safety and general industry knowledge.

  • • Job related certifications

  • • First Aid, Safety, Rescue, Wiltron, Anritsu, Fiber, PIM, CPR and Connector attachment

  • • Organizational, computer and communication skills.

  • • Must be able to read and interpret site plans, RFDS, construction drawings and SOW.

  • • If applicable, the ability to maintain FDOT log books

  • • Training will be provided

  • • Recognize and provide a safe work site with acceptable quality and efficiency

  • • Ability to lead, teach and train proper work and safety procedures.

  • • Must be able to provide, record and manage paperwork (Excel, Word etc)

  • •Must be fit and in good physical condition

  • •Must have the ability to climb towers, be able to pick up 50 lbs., and be cable of working up to 12 hours on occasion.

Additional Information

  • • Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions.

  • • Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary, and be willing to travel extensively.

Electrician

  • • Ability to read blue prints and do estimates.

  • • Material and labor takeoffs manage electrical projects and control costs based on project budgets.

  • • Must possess working knowledge of the electrical industry to include new site build, modifications deployment and implementation, and some knowledge of real estate, site acquisition and zoning

  • •Responsible for managing and controlling costs for the financial cycle of the project to include budget control and maintenance, financial tracking, reporting and bidding, proposal management, purchase orders, and review and approval of vendor invoices, and project close-out.

  • • Prepares the scope of work to include pricing, resources and schedule for new and proposed projects in accordance with existing contract terms and conditions

  • • Responsible for managing site acquisition, engineering and construction projects in compliance with established processes and policies established by the company, the client, and regulatory agencies.

  • • Use knowledge of customer's networks and business models to assist with determining future opportunities to deploy additional products and services

  • • Risk management and contingency planning, negotiation of complex or sensitive issues to favorable resolution

  • • Enforces the MasTec Network Solutions quality program and ensure that appropriate safety guidelines are followed in the performance of the work by staff and vendors and ensures that work practices meets or exceeds all current company and industry standards and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

  • • Understand, train and enforce the company quality program, processes and standards. Manage the inspection and acceptance work performed by vendors and company resources including the quality of services, equipment and materials, engineering documents, and other required project deliverables.

  • • Implement and achieve the company Zero Defect Policy.

  • • Experience with 24VDC and 48VDC is preferable.

  • • Project management scheduling software experience (i.e. Microsoft Project, P3e or comparable)

  • • Strong proficiency with MS Office.

  • • Estimating software

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • • High School graduate with 4 years industry trade experience.

  • • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills

Construction Manager Responsibilities:

  • • Serving as jobsite representative for the carrier

  • • Assisting in the identification and qualification of the various sub-contractor required for the project, including all site and buildingtrades

  • • Providing coordination and input as needed with utility companies providing services and infrastructure for the project, including schedule and cost management

  • • Developing initial project specific cost estimates and taking lead responsibility with the budgetary management of the various cost components of the project

  • • Monitoring and ensuring schedule performance and quality workmanship of contractors

  • • Working closely with the contractor, architect, civil engineer, and associated consultants in developing site specific value engineering options for the work

  • • Reviewing change proposals, proposal requests, requests for information, supplemental instructions, and other contract documentation as required on behalf of the carrier's interests

  • • Reviewing and approving contractor payment requests

  • • Attending local meetings, approval meetings, and conferences on behalf of the carrier documenting and taking action on items in the carrier's interests

  • • Reviewing tenant leases and requirements as it pertains to the carrier's obligations, ensuring the carrier meets the requirements while controlling project cost

  • • Coordinating with tenant's design and construction personnel to ensure accuracy in the owner's development of tenant's documents
